    Get PDF
In the modern era, workflows are adopted as a powerful and attractive paradigm for expressing/solving a variety of applications like scientific, data intensive computing, and big data applications such as MapReduce and Hadoop. These complex applications are described using high-level representations in workflow methods. With the emerging model of cloud computing technology, scheduling in the cloud becomes the important research topic. Consequently, workflow scheduling problem has been studied extensively over the past few years, from homogeneous clusters, grids to the most recent paradigm, cloud computing. The challenges that need to be addressed lies in task-resource mapping, QoS requirements, resource provisioning, performance fluctuation, failure handling, resource scheduling, and data storage. This work focuses on the complete study of the resource provisioning and scheduling algorithms in cloud environment focusing on Infrastructure as a service (IaaS). We provided a comprehensive understanding of existing scheduling techniques and provided an insight into research challenges that will be a possible future direction to the researchers

Objective: To examine the impact of the herbal product in improving litter weight, reducing piglet mortality and increasing milk production in sows. Methods: 20 sows which were in their late gestation period were randomly divided into two groups (n=10). Group T0 sows served as no treatment control group, and T1 group sows were supplemented with herbal galactagogue premix, Payapro (M/S Ayurvet Ltd., Baddi) administered for 5 d prior to farrowing and & 10 d post farrowing. Results: The analyses of result revealed that the postpartum milk yield (Approximately for 2 mo) was found to be increased in Payapro supplemented group (166 liters) in comparison to control group (103.5 liters). A significant reduction in mortality in Payapro supplemented group was evident at the time of weaning. Mean piglet weight was improved in the treatment group by 38.8%. Average litter size was also more in Payapro supplemented group (8.6) than the control group (7.7).Conclusion: Payapro premix can enhance the sow productivity in terms of milk production and number of. pigs produced per litter. Keywords: Galactogogue, Mean piglet weight, Average mortalityÂ

Strengthening and retrofitting of concrete structures using fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) wrapping is a promising technique in construction sector. Epoxy is the commonly used matrix which possess a higher rate of degradation under exposure to harsh environment. The evaluation of strength and durability of concrete cylinders confined by multi walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) incorporated epoxy with hybrid sisal and basalt fiber composite systems exposed to various environmental conditions forms focus of this paper. Specimens are subjected to various environmental exposure such as elevated temperature, acidic, alkaline and sea water conditions. Two varieties of epoxy viz. neat epoxy and MWCNT modified epoxy systems are considered. Mechanical and durability properties are analyzed based on axial compressive behavior, stress strain response, visual inspection and modes of failure. The MWCNT incorporated epoxy based hybrid FRP confined specimens exhibited a strength reduction less than 10% when compared with unexposed confined specimens under aggressive environmental conditions, while unconfined specimens showed strength reduction by 40% when compared to unexposed unconfined specimens. The MWCNT modified epoxy based hybrid confinement showed an energy absorption of 6.24 times that of unconfined specimens upon chemical exposure. Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity test revealed efficacy of confinement system in protecting concrete core from a sudden failure, which in turn increases the compressive strength of system. A statistical analysis using ANOVA was employed to find significance of these factors and confirmed with experimental results. The effect of MWCNT incorporation is significant in FRP confinement and shows the possibility of the FRP system to be adopted as a major retrofitting material in alkaline and sea water environments
